In a noteworthy meeting in Shanghai, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul underscored their dedication to enhancing the relationship between China and Thailand. The talks primarily centered on advancing cooperation in artificial intelligence, infrastructure development, and regional collaboration efforts.

The discussions between the two leaders led to an agreement to broaden their partnership in cutting-edge sectors such as AI, aerospace, and clean energy. Both countries expressed a commitment to speeding up key connectivity projects, notably the China-Thailand railway and the railway links that connect China, Laos, and Thailand, which are expected to enhance regional mobility and economic integration.

Furthermore, the leaders committed to intensifying efforts to combat cross-border criminal activities, with a particular focus on tackling online gambling and telecommunications fraud. In addition to these security measures, they agreed to enhance cooperation in tourism, education, and media sectors, aiming to strengthen cultural and people-to-people exchanges between the two nations.

Thailand reiterated its support for the one-China policy during the discussions, reflecting its continued diplomatic alignment with Beijing. Both countries also expressed a shared commitment to pursuing peaceful solutions to regional issues, including the ongoing situation at the Thailand-Cambodia border, highlighting their mutual interest in maintaining stability and fostering regional peace.
