China is set to embark on its National Science Popularization Month, an initiative aimed at enhancing public comprehension of scientific innovation and advancing science literacy across the nation. The month-long program is themed “Science Transforms Lives, Innovation Secures the Future” and will encompass a diverse array of exhibitions, lectures, science tours, and public engagement activities.
In Beijing, over 100 exhibitions and events are scheduled at major venues, while more than 150 activities will be organized by national scientific societies throughout the country. This initiative is designed to make fundamental research and emerging scientific advancements more accessible to the general public, thereby fostering a deeper appreciation for scientific progress.
A key feature of the program is offering visitors the chance to explore laboratories and research facilities, providing insights into cutting-edge scientific breakthroughs. This hands-on approach aims to demystify the complexities of scientific research and innovation, encouraging more people to engage with science in meaningful ways.
Additionally, the program will host the 2026 World Conference on Science Literacy in mid-September in Beijing. This event will convene representatives from various countries to discuss science literacy and explore opportunities for international collaboration, further highlighting China’s commitment to global scientific discourse and cooperation.
