Speaking at a reception in Beijing on the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, Xi emphasized the need to sustain economic growth, promote innovation-driven and high-quality development, and improve people’s livelihoods. These efforts are crucial to ensure a robust start to the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan for 2026–2030.

In relation to Taiwan, Xi called for more profound cross-Strait exchanges and cooperation, expressing opposition to Taiwan independence and external interference, while advocating for peaceful development of cross-Strait relations.
Xi also highlighted China’s pursuit of an independent foreign policy of peace, aiming to foster a community with a shared future for humanity. This vision underlines China’s broader international strategy and its efforts to position itself as a key player on the global stage.
The Chinese President’s remarks come at a time when China is facing various internal and external challenges, including economic pressures and geopolitical tensions. By focusing on innovation, economic growth, and regional integration, Xi’s speech sets the tone for China’s future development and its role in the international community.
