In a recent meeting in Beijing, Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed strong support for a two-state solution regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict during discussions with Jordan’s King Abdullah II. President Xi advocated for the revival of peace talks and the swift formation of an independent Palestinian state. He underscored the importance of achieving a comprehensive ceasefire, ensuring civilian protection, maintaining humanitarian aid, and pursuing a political resolution grounded in international law.
President Xi emphasized that Palestinians should maintain self-governance in their territories, notably in the West Bank, and highlighted the significance of reconstructing Gaza. His statements reflect China’s position on supporting Palestinian autonomy and promoting stability in the region through diplomatic means.
During their discussions, President Xi and King Abdullah II also addressed the enhancement of the China-Jordan strategic partnership.
