Russia is emphasizing the “battle-tested” nature of its defense partnership with India, a key theme in a new strategic push. Ambassador Denis Alipov said the cooperation is “unique” because it is “rooted in battlefield experience that Russia willingly shares.”
Alipov cited “Operation Sindoor” as a “testament” to the effectiveness of the 70% of India’s military hardware that is of Russian origin. This, he argued, is a stark contrast to a simple seller-buyer relationship.
This combat-proven legacy is the foundation for new offers, including the co-production of the Su-57 fifth-generation fighter, drones, and anti-drone systems.
The speech is a clear counter-narrative to US pressure. As Washington imposes tariffs over India’s oil trade, Moscow is highlighting its role as a partner that provides not just equipment, but shared operational doctrine and technology.
