Loong Air has inaugurated a new direct flight service connecting Chengdu Tianfu International Airport with Taichung International Airport, marking the airline’s first venture into cross-strait travel. This route will operate twice weekly, with flights scheduled on Tuesdays and Saturdays, enhancing connectivity between southwestern China and central Taiwan.
The introduction of this new route is a significant development for travelers, as it aims to improve access and convenience between these regions. The Chengdu to Taichung route joins an expanding network at Taichung International Airport, which now boasts 31 routes that are either operational or have been announced. This includes 20 regular services and 11 charter routes, further solidifying the airport’s position as a central hub for international travel.
With the addition of Chengdu, Taichung International Airport now serves three scheduled cross-strait destinations, alongside Nanjing and Qingdao. This expansion reflects the growing demand for direct flights that facilitate travel and economic exchanges between mainland China and Taiwan.
